NIRF 2024: How Odisha’s Top Institutes Ranked Nationally

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s educational institutions made their mark in the prestigious National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings released on Monday by the Union Ministry of Education.

In the overall category, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) secured 24th and 28th positions respectively, while the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela attained the 34th spot. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras topped the list, followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Bengaluru, in second place, and IIT-Bombay in third.

In the university category, both SOA and KIIT are among the top 100, with SOA ranked 14th and KIIT 15th. In the research category, NIT Rourkela (30th), KIIT (46th), and SOA (50th) are placed within the top 50 research institutions in India.

For engineering, five Odisha institutions are in the top 100: NIT Rourkela (19th), SOA (26th), KIIT (37th), IIT-Bhubaneswar (54th), and CV Raman Global University (96th).

In management, five institutions from Odisha made it to the top 100: XIM University-Bhubaneswar (43rd), Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Sambalpur (50th), International Management Institute-Bhubaneswar (61st), SOA (62nd), and KIIT (67th).

In the medical category, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Bhubaneswar (15th), SOA (21st), and KIIT (25th) are in the top 50.

Utkal University stands as the only public university from Odisha in the top 50 of the state public university category, ranked 42nd.
