Bhubaneswar: Dinabandhu Sahu, a resident of Biswanathpur in Rangeilunda block, Odisha, has finally returned home after being held captive in Cambodia for several days.
Sahu was lured to Cambodia by a local agent who promised him a job as a computer operator. However, upon arrival, he was forced to work as a scammer, targeting individuals in the Philippines and India.
When Sahu refused to participate in the scam, he was confined to a room for ten days. He eventually escaped and made his way back to India with the help of the Indian Embassy in Cambodia.
Sahu’s story is a reminder of the dangers of falling prey to job scams. It is important to do your research before accepting a job offer and to be wary of any company that asks for money upfront.
