Junior Revenue Assistant Arrested for Accepting ₹25,000 Bribe in Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: The Odisha Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday nabbed a Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA) of the Boudh Collectorate red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The accused, Choudhury Papun Kumar Dash, was caught demanding and accepting the illegal gratification from a local businessman dealing with aquarium products.

According to the Vigilance Department, Dash had sought the bribe to expedite the clearance of the businessman’s pending bill related to an Aquarium Project implemented in the Boudh District Museum during the 2021-22 financial year. The entire bribe amount was recovered from Dash at the time of his arrest.

Simultaneous searches are underway at two locations linked to the JRA to investigate whether he has amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. A case has been registered against Dash under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
