Some Odisha Districts Likely To Have ‘Wet Holi’: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar forecast on Tuesday that light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts over the next three days, while the weather in the remaining districts of the state is likely to be dry.

There will be no major change in the maximum temperatures (day temperatures) in most places in Odisha and it is likely to be above normal by 2°C-3°C at many places during the next four to five days. According to the IMD weather forecast, Bhubaneswar and neighbouring regions will experience maximum and minimum temperatures around 36°C and 22°C respectively during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over most Odisha districts during the last 24 hours. Dense fog occurred at one or two places in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Khurda and Ganjam districts in coastal Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog occurred at one or two places in Angul and Kalahandi districts in interior Odisha.

The maximum temperatures dropped appreciably at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of north interior Odisha, while no major change was observed elsewhere in the state.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.8°C was recorded at Jharsuguda and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
