Tata Steel Launches Odisha’s First-Ever Fully Automated Construction Service Centre

Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel, a leading steel producer in India, has inaugurated the first fully automated construction service centre in Odisha. The centre, established in partnership with Sagar Business Private Limited, spans 11 acres in Tangi, Cuttack. It is equipped with advanced automatic manufacturing facilities capable of producing customised Cut & Bend rebars, Coupler threading, and Welded Wire Mesh with a capacity of 3000 TPM.

The inauguration of the centre was conducted by Ashish Anupam, Chairperson of Marketing & Sales, Long Products, Tata Steel. Following the event, a customer meeting was held in Bhubaneswar, attended by around sixty customers from the infrastructure, housing, and industrial sectors, as well as Tata Steel executives and members from the AEC community of Odisha.

Ashish Anupam highlighted the significance of automation in the construction industry and its potential to drive unprecedented growth. He expressed delight in partnering with Sagar Business Pvt. Ltd. to establish the first fully automated Construction Service Center in Odisha, which aims to facilitate sustainable, precise, high-quality, and rapid construction.

The centre represents a major milestone in shaping the construction industry and positioning Tata Steel as a knowledge-intensive leader in the region. This innovative initiative is expected to revolutionize reinforcement applications in the construction sector and meet the increasing infrastructure demand in Odisha.

During the celebration event, two industry experts shared their insights on the future of construction and modern construction technologies. Adam Jordan, Asia Pacific lead at Bryden Wood, Australia, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the “Future of Construction in the World,” while Yogesh Prabhakar Kajale, Senior VP (Engineering) at B. G. Shirke Construction Technology Private Limited, enlightened the audience with his talk on “Modern Construction Technologies in India.”
