Transgender, 2 Others Arrested For Online Fraud In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Three persons including a transgender were arrested on charges of cybercrime in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Kinnar Soumya Ranjan Pradhan and her associates Tusharkanti Baiku and Sunil Samantaray.

Police said that the trio was impersonating as PA of a political leader and duped a man of Rs 31,500 through an online mode in the city.

After a case was lodged with Commisinerate police, the cops swung into action and arrested the accused persons today.

Police too informed that the accused persons had earlier duped some people of over Rs 1.5 lakh in the same manner.

They have three cases filed against them in Bhubaneswar and two each in Berhampur and Sambalpur.
