US Consul General Jennifer Larson Meets Odisha CM to Bolster US-Odisha Partnership

Bhubaneswar: US Consul General Jennifer Larson met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday to discuss enhancing the US-Odisha partnership across multiple sectors.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasised strengthening ties between the US and Odisha in industries, education, renewable energy, tourism, and culture. Highlighting Odisha’s advantages, including skilled manpower, available land, and resources, he sought US participation in the upcoming Utkarsh Utkal Conclave, scheduled for 6-7 months from now.

Majhi expressed a keen interest in collaboration with US universities in advanced fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning. He also sought partnerships in higher education and invited US investment in establishing a semiconductor industry in Odisha. Additionally, Majhi encouraged American companies to explore Odisha’s vibrant culture, rich heritage, and natural beauty, promoting cultural exchanges and educational collaborations.

Consul General Larson congratulated Majhi on his office and praised Odisha’s industrial climate. She affirmed the US’s interest in partnering with Odisha for commercial engagements and supporting the state’s priorities across various sectors.

The meeting included notable attendees like Development Commissioner Anu Garg and ACS to CM Nikunja Bihari Dhal.
