Journalists questioned him about the post of Congress president. He said that this time a Hindi belt leader is being heard about being made the Congress president. What is your opinion? In response, Shashi Tharoor said I like Hindi. I can speak Hindi fluently. “An Indian is an Indian,” he said. If you are going to do politics nowadays, you have to speak Hindi. South Indians speak good Hindi.

I can also speak Hindi. If they choose a leader from the Hindi belt, they are allowed to support them. On the other hand, Kerala Congress President K. Sudhakaran said that Shashi Tharoor is qualified for the post of party president. Congress is a democratic party, so Tharoor can fight elections. If Tharoor wants to contest the election, there is no point in filing charges against him.

Sudhakaran said, “All members of the Congress have the freedom and right to contest elections, as this is a democratic party.” Tharoor can fight if he wants to. The party has to accept him. Notably, Tharoor has signaled to contest the elections. When asked about this on Tuesday, he said, once the election information is released, he will decide about his candidature.

Tharoor is one of the members of the rebel group G-23, who wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi a few years ago demanding massive organizational changes in the party. After this letter was circulated in Congress. There was internal strife in the party.
