9 Candidates to Try Their Luck in Jharsuguda By-Poll

Jharsuguda: Over nine candidates will try their luck in the upcoming Jharsuguda by-election.

Earlier, ten candidates had filed their nominations for the by-poll. However, one of the candidates identified as  Bhubaneswar Gartia withdrew his nomination on Tuesday.

In the by-poll,  Dipali Das, daughter of the slain Naba Kishore Das is the nominee of Biju Janta Dal (BJD). Tankadhar Tripathy is nominee of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). Tarun Pandey, son of former MLA of Jharsuguda late Biren Pandey is the candidate of Congress.

Apart from them, Janma Rohodas of Odisha Pragati Dal, Manish Sharma of Odisha Janata Party, Mahindra Patnaik of Kalinga Sena, and independent candidates Bijay Kumar Jalan, Mahendra Luha and Gyanendra Behera are in the fray for Jharsuguda by-poll.

The by-election for the Jharsuguda assembly seat in Odisha will be held on May 10, declared the Election Commission of India. The counting of votes of this by-poll will be held on May 13 along with the declaration of the result.
