Jharsuguda By-Poll: Counting on May 13

Jharsuguda: The counting of votes of the Jharsuguda constituency by-election will be done on May 13.

The voting in the by-elections ended at around 7 pm on May 10, 2023. 75.60% of the people of the constituency cast their votes. After the completion of voting, the electronic voting machines (EVMs) were sealed and stored in the strong rooms at Jharsuguda Engineering School. The rooms have been set up inside the boundary of the school amid tight security.

The counting of votes will start at 8 am on Saturday. It will be done in 18 rounds. The necessary arrangements have been made for the peaceful counting of votes.

The poll was conducted without any untoward incident amid tight security arrangements.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office reported that the voting percentage may rise as a large number of voters were still waiting in queues at several polling booths to exercise their democratic rights.
