Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan to Host 4 Matches, Sri Lanka Gets 9 in Unique Hybrid Model

Colombo: The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 is set to captivate cricket fans from August 31 to September 17, as Sri Lanka and Pakistan play host to this prestigious tournament. In an exciting first, the championship will adopt a hybrid model, combining matches in both countries. The participating teams include cricket powerhouses India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, guaranteeing an electrifying showdown in the 13 action-packed One Day International (ODI) matches.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) stated, “We are thrilled to announce the dates for the Asia Cup 2023, spanning from August 31 to September 17. This edition promises intense competition among the elite teams, showcasing the talents of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.” With four matches scheduled in Pakistan and nine matches in Sri Lanka, the tournament will truly embody the spirit of unity among Asian nations.

The Asia Cup 2023 will follow a group stage format, with two groups vying for a spot in the Super Four stage. From there, the top two teams from the Super Four will proceed to the grand finale. This thrilling structure ensures a high level of competition throughout the tournament, leading up to the ultimate clash between the best two teams.
