Chief Selector of BCCI Chetan Sharma Resigns

New Delhi: Chief Selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chetan Sharma resigned. His resignation seems to be related to the row over his alleged remarks in a sting operation. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah is reported to have accepted his resignation.

In the sting operation, Chetan Shama allegedly made some weird comments about Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya as well as some other players in the Indian team. The sting was conducted by Zee News.

BCC did not comment on the matter.

In the sting operation, Sharma had allegedly revealed his personal discussions with head coach Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli. Chetan Sharma alleged in the sting that many Indian players take injections to speed up their return to competitive cricket despite being 80 to 85 percent fit. He also expressed his difference of opinion with the team management over Bumrah’s return from a stress fracture for the T20I series against Australia in September.

He also spoke on the alleged ego tussle between former captain Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.
