Commonwealth Games 2022: PV Sindhu wins women’s singles gold medal in Badminton

New Delhi: PV Sindhu has won the gold medal for India in women’s singles in the commonwealth badminton competition. India’s PV Sindhu has achieved this feat after winning from Canada’s Michelle Lee. Meanwhile Canada’s Michelle Lee had to settle for a silver medal. Sindhu had injured her left leg before the match and even got injured in the middle of the match. Even after that, she made history for India.

PV Sindhu won the first round by 21-15. Similarly, she won 21-13 in the second round and won the gold medal. Earlier, she won silver medals in the commonwealth games in 2014 and 2018. World No. 7 PV Sindhu’s first gold in singles. Sindhu won the silver medal in the mixed team event. Earlier in 2018, Sindhu won gold in the mixed team event. India is still fifth in the medal tally with 19 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze.
