India Beat Sri Lanka By 2 Runs To Take 1-0 Series Lead

Mumbai: Debutant Shivam Mavi scalped four wickets which helped India to clinch two runs victory over Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Harshal Patel and Umran Malik bagged two wickets each. India bundled Sri Lanka in 160 runs.

The visitors kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and as has been the case in recent times, the onus was on the skipper Dasun Shanaka and the lower order to lead the fight back.

That is exactly what happened as Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga stitched together a quick 40-run stand.

Earlier, Powerful hitting from Deepak Hooda (41*) and Axar Patel (31*) guided Team India to 162/5 in 20 overs.

Apart from them, Ishan Kishan smashed 37 runs while skipper Hardik Pandya scored 29 runs. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dhananjaya de Silva, Maheesh Theekshana, and Chamika Karunaratne scalped one wicket each.
