IPL 2023: Record Prize Pool of Rs 46.5 Crore Up for Grabs in Final

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed remarkable growth in popularity and prize pool since its inception in 2008. In the latest season, the prize pool for teams amounts to Rs 46.5 crore.

The winners receive Rs 20 crore, while the runners-up are awarded Rs 13 crore. Individual awards include Rs 15 lakh each for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap holders, Rs 20 lakh for the Emerging Player, and Rs 12 lakh for the Most Valuable Player.

Since its inception in 2008, the IPL has witnessed remarkable growth, reflected in the substantial monetary rewards for the winning teams. In the initial two editions, the champions received a prize of Rs 4.8 crore, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 2.4 crore.

In the IPL 2023 final, Chennai Super Kings will face Gujarat Titans, a rematch of their encounter in the Qualifier. Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious in the Qualifier, showcasing their dominance. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans secured their spot in the final with a resounding 62-run victory over the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. Shubman Gill played a stellar inning, smashing 129 runs off just 60 deliveries, his third century in four IPL innings.

A win for Chennai Super Kings in the final will secure their fifth IPL title, matching the record held by the Mumbai Indians. The clash between these two formidable teams is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, creating an exciting finale for the IPL 2023 season.
