NZ Vs IND, 2nd ODI: Game Called Off As Persistent Rains Ruin The Show

Hamilton: The second ODI between New Zealand and India was called off after heavy rains battered Hamilton.

It was quite a frustrating day for both the players and the fans as persistent rains caused significant delays in the 2nd ODI between New Zealand and India. With continuous rains projected throughout the day, the probabilities of a result looked rather bleak.

The match was curtailed to 29 overs a side after two rain interruptions. India’s score in the 13th over was 89/1 when the game was stopped due to rain.

Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket in the sixth over post the rain pause. Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill then started the rebuilding job.

Kane Williamson, the Kiwi captain, chose to bowl against India in the second ODI at Seddon Park in Hamilton after winning the toss. Sanju Samson and Shardul Thakur have been replaced by Deepak Hooda and Deepak Chahar, respectively, in India.

On Sunday, the second of the three ODIs in the series between India and New Zealand is a must-win game for the Blue Brigade to stay alive in the series after suffering a 7-wicket setback. Kane Williamson and Tom Latham led the New Zealanders to victory while Shikhar Dhawan’s team struggled with their bowling.
