BCCI Likely to Host ODI World Cup Opening Ceremony at Narendra Modi Stadium on October 4

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to host the opening ceremony of the 2023 ODI World Cup on October 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The event will welcome members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and various cricketing councils, as well as all ten team captains.

The ceremony is expected to infuse Indian culture and flavour and may feature prominent figures from the cultural realm. The ICC will also hold a formal briefing session on the same day to enlighten captains about tournament rules and regulations.

Celebrities like Arijit Singh, Rashmika Mandhana, and Tamannaah Bhatia graced the 2023 IPL opening ceremony, and the BCCI may plan a comparable spectacle for the ODI World Cup opening ceremony, potentially involving more stars.

Warm-up matches will be played on the eve of the ceremony, with India facing the Netherlands, Pakistan facing Australia, and Afghanistan competing with Sri Lanka.
