Pollard & Rashid Named Skippers Of Mumbai Indians’ Emirates & Cape Town Teams

Mumbai: The captains of MI Cape Town and MI Emirates were revealed by MI Global today. For the MI Emirates and MI Cape Town, respectively, Kieron Pollard and Rashid Khan will assume the captain’s responsibilities.

With the inclusion of franchises in the T20 cricket competitions of South Africa and the UAE earlier this year, Mumbai Indians expanded internationally. In January 2023, MI Emirates and MI Cape Town will make their debut as new members of the Mumbai Indians ‘One Family. Both teams, which include some of the best players in world cricket, will try to emulate the MI ethos and focus that have made Mumbai Indians one of the sport’s most prosperous franchises.

Mr. Akash M. Ambani said, “We’re extremely pleased to announce our captains for our extended MI Global one family for the cricketing season 2023. We have an amazing mix of talent, experience, and passion in both our captains. I’m convinced that Polly and Rashid will take forward the MI ethos and MI brand of cricket. Both will work with our excellent coaching teams to infuse the MI spirit in the MI Emirates and MI Cape Town and win the hearts of cricket fans in UAE and South Africa.”

The MI Emirates team, captained by Kieron Pollard and featuring the top cricketers in the world, including Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, and Imran Tahir, will make its ILT20 debut on January 13, 2023.

Local South African core, including Kagiso Rabada, Dewald Brevis, and Rassie van der Dussen, as well as Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone make up the core of  MI Cape Town, which will be captained by Rashid Khan. On January 10, 2023, the SA20 season will get underway with MI Cape Town hosting the first match.
