WATCH: Rohit Sharma’s Helicopter Entry For Dharamsala Test Takes Social Media by Storm

Dharamsala: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma arrived at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in style on Tuesday via helicopter, ahead of the fifth Test against England starting Thursday. The rest of the team had reached Dharamshala on Sunday.

India have already secured the series with an unassailable 3-1 lead. However, the upcoming Test will be a landmark occasion for both teams, featuring two unique feats.

Rohit Sharma’s delayed arrival was due to his participation in an event with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur in Bilaspur, where he also interacted with fans. The focus now shifts to the fifth Test, which holds no bearing on the series outcome but promises a thrilling encounter nonetheless.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow will be etching their names in history as they become only the fourth pair of teammates to play their 100th Test together. This follows in the footsteps of legendary pairings like Michael Atherton-Alec Stewart, Jacques Kallis-Shaun Pollock-Stephen Fleming, and Alastair Cook-Michael Clarke.

The Dharamshala Test will witness another remarkable feat. Ashwin and Bairstow, representing India and England respectively, will become just the second instance of opposing players reaching their 100th Test in the same match. New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Kane Williamson are set to replicate this feat in their second Test against Australia, starting a day after the India-England encounter.
