Elon Musk’s AI Brainchild ‘Grok’ Arrives in India, Ready to Supercharge Productivity

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, has introduced Grok for Premium Plus subscribers of X in India. This expansion extends Grok’s reach to 46 other nations, including Pakistan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore, following the recent announcement of its availability to US Premium+ subscribers.

Grok, currently in its beta phase, is exclusively accessible to X Premium+ subscribers, priced at ₹1,300 per month or ₹13,600 per year in India, aligning with global pricing. Unlike conventional chatbots, Grok sets itself apart by delivering witty responses and operates in two modes: fun mode and regular mode. It leverages real-time data from X to respond to queries that might be overlooked by other prominent AI chatbots.

Elon Musk aims to reduce X’s reliance on advertising, emphasizing the shift towards subscriptions. The tech mogul envisions transforming X into a “super app,” offering diverse services such as messaging, social networking, and peer-to-peer payments to its subscribers.

Launched in July in response to his criticisms of Big Tech’s AI efforts for excessive censorship and insufficient safety measures, xAI has gained momentum. Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but stepped down from the board in 2018.

This move by Musk aligns with the broader trend of major tech companies like Microsoft and Google racing to launch AI-powered products following the global success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
