Elon Musk Shares His Son’s Name Choice Inspired by an Indian Nobel Prize Winner

During a meeting with the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in Britain, Elon Musk shared an interesting revelation about his son’s middle name. In a tweet following their meeting, Chandrasekhar disclosed that Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis’s son’s middle name is “Chandrasekhar,” paying homage to the renowned Nobel physicist, Professor S. Chandrasekhar.

Shivon Alice Zilis, a Canadian venture capitalist specializing in technology and artificial intelligence, confirmed this unique name choice, stating, “We call him Sekhar for short, but the name was chosen in honour of our children’s heritage and the amazing Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar.”

Rajeev Chandrasekhar was attending the Global AI Summit, where he highlighted India’s significant strides in the digital economy. India has expanded its digital economy from 4.5% of the total GDP to an impressive 11%, with aspirations to reach 20% by 2025-26.

Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, also emphasized the importance of AI safety at the summit, given the rapid pace of technological advancement.

In another exciting development, the UK and its global partners have announced an £80 million project to fund AI initiatives worldwide, beginning in Africa. This collaborative effort, involving Britain, Canada, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, aims to promote “safe and responsible” AI programming. The UK AI for Development Programme will contribute £38 million to support cutting-edge technology partnerships addressing global challenges. The announcement was made at Bletchley Park during the Artificial Intelligence Safety Summit, underscoring the importance of AI in today’s world.
