Google Play Store Adds Remote Uninstallation Feature Across Devices in Latest Update

In its latest update (version 38.8), the Google Play Store app for Android has introduced a convenient feature enabling users to uninstall applications on one device from another, extending beyond smartphones to include Wear OS smartwatches, Android TV, and Android Auto devices. While this functionality is yet to be universally accessible, it appears to be activated via a server-side switch.

To utilize this remote uninstallation feature, users need to ensure that their devices are logged in with the same Google account. Following this, they can navigate to the Play Store app, tap on their profile image, and select “Manage apps & devices” > “Manage.” A pop-up menu will display connected devices, allowing users to choose the desired device and remotely uninstall selected apps. This feature is particularly useful for quickly managing applications on devices like smart TVs and smartwatches, even when these gadgets are not physically nearby.

Additionally, the remote app management feature supports the simultaneous uninstallation of multiple apps. Users can conveniently sort apps by size or name, facilitating efficient identification of space-consuming applications on their devices. This update enhances user convenience and streamlines the app management process across various connected devices, ensuring a seamless and integrated experience.
