Is Windows 12 on the Horizon? Intel CFO Hints at Major Windows Revamp

There is growing speculation about the release date of Windows 12, Microsoft’s potential successor to Windows 11. While Microsoft has not officially announced any details about Windows 12, recent comments from Intel’s CFO, David Zinsner, have fueled anticipation.

During a fireside chat at the Citi 2023 Global Technology Conference, David Zinsner made remarks that suggested a significant Windows refresh in 2024. He mentioned that “24 is going to be a pretty good year for clients” due to the Windows refresh. This statement has led many to believe that Windows 12 might be on the horizon.

One of the key reasons for this excitement is the age of the existing Windows user base, which is in need of a refresh. Microsoft regularly provides updates and patches for its operating system, but a significant Windows upgrade is expected to bring substantial changes.

Intel’s recent unveiling of the Intel Core Ultra processors, set to launch on December 14, adds to the intrigue. These processors are designed for laptops, and Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S CPUs with up to 24 cores are expected in 2024, potentially aligning with the release of Windows 12.

Microsoft has been incorporating AI features into its operating systems, and the Windows 11 23H2 update already includes AI features like Windows Copilot. If Windows 12 is indeed on the horizon, Microsoft is likely to continue enhancing AI technology.
