Heatwave Condition to Continue in Odisha Till Apr 19

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions are likely to continue at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days till April 19.

IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Monday predicted rainfall in several districts of Odisha thereafter and issued Yellow Warning for the next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD stated, “Maximum temperatures observed marked rise at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and South Interior Odisha, appreciable rise at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and in one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: The Maximum (day) temperature is likely to gradually rise by 4°C to 6°C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next four to five days.

The highest maximum temperature of 40.5°C was recorded yesterday at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 21.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Balasore.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
