3 Killed, 5 Injured As Truck Crashes Into Auto-Rickshaw in Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Three individuals, including two women, were killed and 5 others were injured in a fatal accident in Odisha’s Nabarnagpur district on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 4 pm as ten people were en route to attend an election meeting in an auto-rickshaw. A truck, approaching from the opposite direction, collided with the auto-rickshaw at Jodenga under Raighar police station, reportedly due to the truck driver losing control.

Locals rushed to the spot, assisting the injured and alerting the authorities. Jodenga police, supported by locals, swiftly transported five injured individuals to the nearby community health centre (CHC). Unfortunately, three passengers succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two others emerged unharmed.

Police dispatched the dead bodies for post-mortem examination and impounded both vehicles involved. An investigation is underway following the filing of a case by the police.
