Medical Student Commits Suicide for Failing in Exam in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A medical student committed suicide after he allegedly failed in his exams in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar.

The deceased was identified as Yash Pradhan, hailing from Berhampur. The case has come to the fore from the Airfield police station area in Bhubaneswar. He committed suicide after failing multiple medical tests.

On being informed, Commissionerate Police reached the spot and began to probe.

Earlier today, a first-year postgraduate medical student, who had attempted suicide following alleged ragging by a senior, died in Hyderabad.

She had attempted to end her life four days back. The victim was 26-year-old D Preethi. According to police sources, she was allegedly harassed by her senior at the Kakatiya Medical College. Following it, the victim took a drastic step on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the family of the deceased.
