RJD Leader Abducted in Bihar; Rescued by Police in 24 Hrs, 2 Arrested

Patna: A Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader named Sunil Rai was kidnapped by a group of miscreants in Bihar’s Chhapra district on Tuesday. He was rescued by the police within 24 hours. Two persons involved in the abduction of the RJD leader were arrested.

The vehicle in which the RJD leader was abducted has been seized. An investigation is on to nab the other accused in the case.

According to police sources, at around 4.30 am on Tuesday, some miscreants kidnapped Sunil Rai in Bihar’s Muffasil police station area in a white Scorpio car. Based on the CCTV footage of the area, the police conducted multiple raids that led to the rescue of the RJD leader and the arrest of the two kidnappers.

Reacting to the news of Sunil Rai’s abduction, BJP leader and Bihar’s former deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad said, “Law and order has deteriorated in Bihar after the formation of the grand alliance government. If there is a breakdown in law and order, everyone will have to bear the brunt.”
