New Delhi: Indian javelin thrower and Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra, has called upon India’s Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, to intervene and resolve visa issues for athlete Kishore Jena. Jena is set to compete in the World Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place in Budapest, Hungary, from August 19 to 27. Neeraj expressed his hopes that the authorities can swiftly address the matter to enable Jena’s participation in this significant event.

Kishore Jena, a promising javelin thrower ranked 33rd globally, holds a personal best throw of 84.38 meters achieved at the 101st Sri Lankan Championships on July 28, 2023, where he secured the gold medal.
India is gearing up for the World Athletics Championships with a strong 28-member contingent, led by Neeraj Chopra.
