Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2024: 2 Odia Scientists Awarded ‘Vigyan Yuva – Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award’

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu awarded two distinguished Odia scientists, Dr. Swarup Kumar Parida and Dr. Digendranath Swain, with the prestigious Vigyan Yuva – Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award during the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2024 ceremony at Gantantra Mandap, Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

Dr. Parida, currently a scientist at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) in New Delhi, was recognised for his significant contributions to Agricultural Science. Dr. Swain, who serves as EXMD/STR at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram, was honoured for his remarkable work in Space Science and Technology, particularly in supporting structural qualification tests through advanced techniques.

In this inaugural edition of the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar, 33 awards were distributed across four categories: Vigyan Ratna, Vigyan Shri, Vigyan Yuva, and Vigyan Team.
