President Droupadi Murmu Addresses Nation on Eve of 77th Independence Day

New Delhi: Addressing the nation on the eve of the 77th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu praised India’s resilience during challenging times, portraying it as a beacon of hope. She highlighted the country’s remarkable progress by converting challenges into opportunities, achieving high GDP growth, and leading in the G-20. Notably, she mentioned the National Education Policy 2020 and the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, underscoring advancements in education and space exploration.

The President emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and urged efforts at local, national, and global levels for the environment. She hailed tribal communities’ harmony with nature, attributing their survival to “sympathy.” ISRO’s achievements, including Chandrayaan-3, were commended, and a National Research Foundation was announced to boost research and development.

President Murmu acknowledged the positive impact of the National Education Policy and called for the integration of modernity with tradition in tribal communities. She expressed gratitude to farmers as essential contributors to India’s economic growth and praised the nation’s economic resilience as a source of hope for others.

India’s influential role in promoting development goals and humanitarian cooperation globally was highlighted, particularly its presidency of the G20. The President urged prioritizing women’s empowerment, citing inspirational women icons and acknowledging their increasing contributions to various fields.
