11 Workers Burnt Alive in Delhi Factory Fire, Constable Saves 6 Stranded in Adjacent Building

New Delhi: At least 11 workers were charred to death and four others were injured when a major fire broke out in a paint factory in outer north Delhi’s Alipur area on Thursday evening.

The deceased including a woman haven’t been identified yet. One of the deceased is a female.

Delhi Fire Services used 22 fire tenders to quench the blaze.

A team from the Alipur police station reached the spot to save people trapped in adjacent buildings of the burning paint factory.

Constable Karamveer rescued six people from a de-addiction centre running in an adjacent building by using a wooden charpoy. There were barbed wires on the roof of the de-addiction centre. He put a wooden charpoy over the wires and helped the trapped men come to the other side while the fire was raging. The brave constable sustained burn injuries and was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

The fire was doused after over three hours and the fire officials recovered 11 bodies from inside.
