Bengal Man Walks Around With Wife’s Severed Head, Had Jumped Into Lion’s Enclosure in 2021

Kolkata: A 40-year-old man named Goutam Guchhait was arrested in Purba Medinipur district on Wednesday for beheading his wife and walking around in public with her severed head.

Family members of the arrested man claimed that he was mentally unstable after he jumped into a lion’s enclosure at the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata in 2021. He was injured by the lion. But zoo guards could drag him out of the lion enclosure in time to save his life.

According to police sources, the accused beheaded his wife, Fulrani Guchhait following a marital quarrel. The accused reached the local bus stop holding the severed head of his wife in hand.
