2.5 Kg Gold Seized from Arrested Smuggler in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: An alleged gold smuggler was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) during raids in Bhubaneswar. Around 2.465 kg of foreign-marked smuggled gold in the form of biscuits and bars was seized from the possession of the arrested man.

Investigation proved that the seized gold was illegally smuggled into India and was hidden in multiple places. The accused was arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act.

The arrested man was produced before a local court which remanded him to fourteen days of judicial custody.
