2 More COVID Infected Detected in Odisha, Active Cases Rise to 5

Bhubaneswar: Two more persons infected by the Coronavirus were detected during the past 24 hours in Odisha. With it active COVID cases increased five in the state.

All these five cases were detected during the past seven days.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID cases in India rose to 4170 in India. More than 400 new positive persons were identified from across the country in the last 24 hours.

Three Covid-19 positive patients died in Karnataka during past 24 hours. Karnataka government has declared 7-day mandatory home isolation  COVID-19-positive patients.

In an advisory, the Health and Family Welfare Department of Odisha has urged people especially the elderly and those with co-morbidities to use facemasks while going out in view of the emergence of the JN.1 variant of Covid-19.

According to experts, people should remain alert even though the cases with the new JN.1 variant are mild.
