3 Labourers Die As Soil Caves-in During Pipeline Construction in Jajpur

Jajpur: Three labourers were buried to death in Odisha’s Jajpur district as soil caved in on them during pipeline construction.

The mishap happened near the Rahasa village of Kapila panchayat under the Binjharpur police station limits.

All of them were contractual workers. They were digging the ground for laying of the pipeline when the soil caved in on them. All of them were asphyxiated to death under the soil pile.

The incident took place in Rahasa village under Kapila panchayat of Binjarpur police station limits.

According to reports, the deceased were inhabitants of Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

The locals and police reached the spot to recover the bodies. An investigation is underway.

On May 3, two labourers died and another was seriously injured when the wall of a brick kiln collapsed on them at Nuagada under Patapur police station limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
