4 Armed Robbers Loot Rs 1 Cr from Bank in Bihar

Patna: Four armed men looted over Rs 1 crore from an Axis Bank branch in Bihar’s Sheikhpura district on Monday morning, The Axis Bank branch at Sri Krishna Chowk in Sheikhpura town, about 50km north of state capital Patna was looted at about 10:20 am.

The unidentified armed robbers entered the bank and first targeted the strong room before moving to the cash counter. They also robbed the bank customers.

According to police sources, the robbers disconnected the branch’s alarm system before beginning the robbery.

The bank manager was beaten up when he initially tried to resist the loot attempt.

The robbers confiscated the mobile phones of the bank staffers and customers. They were tied up and locked inside the bank premises by the robbers who fled on their two motorcycles. The whole robbery took place in 10 minutes. The locals heard screams for help and after the robbers left and rescued them.

Police are trying to identify the miscreants through CCTV camera footage installed inside and outside the bank. A special investigation team headed by a DSP has been constituted to track down the robbers.
