4 Maoists Slain in Exchange of Fire With Security Forces Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur Dist

Raipur: Four Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday.

The identity of the slain Maoisst has not been ascertained. More details of the encounter are awaited.

The exchange of fire happened in a forest of the Bijapur district at around 6 am when a joint team of security personnel involved in an anti-Maoist operation tracked down the ultras.

“A total of four dead bodies of Maoists have been found after an exchange of fire between security forces and Maoists near Kendra -Korcholi jungles under Gangaloor police station. One LMG weapon along with Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) and other arms ammunition recovered from the spot,” said inspector general of police (IGP), Bastar range, Sunderaj P.
