60 Live Worms Removed from Woman’s Eyes by Surgery in China

More than 60 live worms were taken out from a female patient’s eyes by surgery in China, reported the Mirror.

According to reports, the unidentified woman was suffering from itchy eyes and she was panicked when a worm fell out when she rubbed her eyes.

She consulted a hospital in Kunming, China. During examination, the doctors were shocked to find live worms nestled between her eyeballs and eyelids. They removed more than 40 live worms from her right eye and around 20 worms from her left eye.

As per Daily Express US, the doctors believe that the woman was infected by roundworms of the Filarioidea type, which are typically transmitted through fly bites.
