7 Odisha Districts Alerted for Low-Pressure Forming Over Bay of Bengal

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal, the Odisha government on Monday directed the district administrations of seven coastal districts to alert the fishermen not to venture into the sea.

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Satyabrata Sahoo wrote a letter to the collectors of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda and Ganjam districts with the advice that fishermen should not venture into the sea from November 15 onwards and they must return to the shore before that.

The Fisheries and ARD department will ensure the communication of warning/ alert messages reaches the fishermen who are fishing in sea.

The IMD has predicted a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. Because of it, several parts of Odisha may experience rain.
