AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar Takes Charge as Chandigarh Mayor Following SC Decision

Chandigarh: AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar took charge as Chandigarh mayor at the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation office Wednesday.

All senior AAP and Congress leaders were present when Kuldeep Kumar welcomed with beats of dhol and a red carpet at the entrance.

Councillors Gurpreet Singh Gabi and Nirmala Devi filed nominations for the posts of senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor, respectively,

The Supreme Court had declared Kuldeep Kumar the winner after watching the videos that proved malpractice in the mayoral polls that led to the win of the BJP candidate. The presiding officer was found to be involved in the electoral malpractice.

The mayor Kuldip Kumar will be the presiding officer for the election to the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor to be held on March 4.
