Another NEET Aspirant Ends Life in Kota, This Year’s 17th Suicide

Kota: Eighteen-year-old Manjot Singh from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, who was preparing for medical entrance exams, committed suicide in Rajasthan’s Kota on Thursday.

He had come to Kota in April this year and got admitted to a coaching centre to prepare for NEET.

His body was found hanging from a fan in his hostel room on Thursday morning.

This year, at least 17 student suicides have been reported in Kota.

Kota in Rajasthan is famous for its coaching centres. More than 2.25 lakh students are estimated to be admitted in various coaching centres Kota in the current academic year to crack medical and engineering entrance exams.

In May alone, as many as five students committed suicide in Kota.
