Arrested Accused Escapes from Athagarh Police Station

Athagarh: An arrested person allegedly fled from the Athagarh police station in Cuttack district on Saturday.

The fugitive has been identified as Biranchi Mantri, who was arrested by the personnel of the Athagarh police station in connection with a bombing incident at Amrutamanohi Patna village on August 9.

It is alleged that Mantri managed to escape from police custody because of the carelessness of the cops guarding him.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated. Based on the report of the investigation action would be initiated against those because of whose error the arrested man managed to escape.
