ASI Starts Repair Work of Natamandap of Puri Srimandir

Bhubaneswar: The repair work of Natamandap of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri was started by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Friday.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) permitted the ASI for the repair work, following a directive from the Orissa High Court in this regard on Thursday.

According to the SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das, the ASI will take up the repair work from 6.00 am to 10.00 am every day without hampering the daily rituals of the deities or the movement of devotees. The ASI plans to use iron scaffolding for the repairs in coordination with temple officials.

The Puri Jagannath Temple’s technical team will monitor the repair work. The shrine commander and supervisor will manage the crowd.
