Muslim Women Shouldn’t Go To Beauty Parlors; UP Cleric’s Weird Diktat

Lucknow: Mufti Asad Kasmi, a cleric in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district on Friday made a bizarre statement that Muslim women should refrain from going to the beauty parlours where men are employed.

The Muslim cleric said, it is ‘forbidden’ and ‘unlawful’ for women to visit the parlours, where men were employed to do the makeup.

According to Mufti Asad Kasmi, Muslim women should opt for salons that use only female employees.

Last month, a Kanpur woman filed a police complaint claiming that her husband pronounced triple talaq over the phone from Saudi Arabia upon learning that she had her eyebrows shaped.
