BJP National VP Baijayant Panda Receives Death Threat Amidst Political Tensions in State

Bhubaneswar: Baijayant Jay Panda, the National Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has reportedly received a death threat via an unknown phone call. The caller warned Panda of a fate similar to that of Naba Das, the former Health Minister of Odisha who was assassinated earlier this year in broad daylight.

In response to this threat, Panda’s office has filed a complaint with the Delhi Police, providing all the necessary details for investigation.

Panda has been in the spotlight recently due to his criticism of the Canadian government, particularly Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who had accused Indian agents of involvement in the killing of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey on June 18. Panda has also criticized Ottawa for supporting terrorists on Canadian soil while advocating liberal values and allowing Khalistani secessionists to conduct a ‘Referendum’ in Surrey, British Columbia.

Earlier today, Panda reiterated his stance by suggesting that the Indian government should consider facilitating an online “referendum on the Quebec independence” issue, similar to the one organized by Khalistani separatists on Canadian soil.

It’s worth noting that Naba Das lost his life to bullet injuries when an assistant sub-inspector of police shot him with his service revolver during an event in Brajarajnagar, Jharsuguda district, on January 29.
