Bhubaneswar: At 11.30 am on Thursday, three places in Odisha recorded temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius.
Bhubaneswar was the hottest at temperatures of 41.1 degrees by 11:30 am.
Balasore and Chandbali each recorded maximum temperatures of 41 degree Celsius. According to the IMD, Jharsuguda and Hirakud recorded temperatures of 40.4 and 40.2 degrees respectively by 11:30 am.
Keonjhar at 39.6 and Sambalpur at 39 also experienced severe heat wave by 11:30 am on Thursday. It is expected that more places in Odisha will record maximum temperature over 40 degree by 2:30 pm on Thursday.
