BJD MP Pinaki Mishra Counters Opposition No-Confidence Motion, Wants Women’s Reservation Bill Passed

New Delhi: BJD MP Pinaki Misra spoke against the Opposition’s no-trust motion in the Lok Sabha.

The BJD MP said he had no doubt that the no-confidence motion against the PM Modi-led government will be “resoundingly defeated” and it will be rejected.

“I think it will not at all benefit the Congress to have brought this motion at this point of time,” he added.

Pinaki Misra however demanded the Women’s reservation bill to be passed. He said, “If there is anything in which I feel that this government lacks the confidence of this House, it is that they’ve not brought the Women’s reservation bill despite being fully empowered to do so. We only have one more Parliament session, which is the winter session. I plead and urge the prime minister that he should bring in the bill and have it passed unanimously. It can be done in 15 minutes.”
