BJD MP Prasanna Acharya Seriously Injured in Road Accident

Sambalpur: BJD Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya was seriously injured when his car crashed with an oxygen-tanker near Beladihi in Rairakhol of Odisha’s Sambalpur district, late Thursday night.

The injured senior leader of the BJD was admitted to the ICU in a private hospital in Sambalpur.

Achary’s car reportedly had a head-on collision with the gas tanker on NH 55, Sambalpur-Rairakhol road. Acharya was reportedly returning to Bargarh from Bhubaneswar when the accident occurred. The police have detained the driver of the truck for questioning.

Till the last report came in, the condition of the senior BJD leader was stated to be stable.

The Personal Security Officer (PSO) of the BJD was also critically injured while the driver of his car sustained minor injuries.
