BSF Starts 15-Day ‘Operation Sard Hawa’ Alert at Indo-Pak Border Ahead of Republic Day

New Delhi: The Border Security Forces (BSF) has started a 15-day special alert along the India-Pakistan border named ‘Operation Sard Hawa’ ahead of the Republic Day.

The BSF troops posted along the borders of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat are now on high alert to deal with any type of terrorist attack.

Every year around Republic Day, a special alert is sounded along the border for about 10 days. But this year it has been issued for 15 days, because of the Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya.

According to an intelligence report, there is a possibility of six types of threats on the India-Pakistan border on January 26 this year. According to Aaj Tak, Pakistan Rangers and ISI are helping the infiltration bids of terrorists via the ‘Masroor Bada Bhai’ – one of the launch pads used by foreign terrorists to enter Jammu and Kashmir.

Added to it, the Pakistan Rangers and ISI are helping the Pakistan-based terrorists to transport China-made weapons and drugs to India using drones.

The ISI is also planning to deliver weapons to Khalistani terrorists in Punjab and Rajasthan using smugglers and drones for violent activities on Republic Day.

Apart from land, the BSF is also keeping watch on the rivers of Jammu and Punjab, as infiltrators can use them as paths.
