Arms Workshop of Maoists Unearthed by Security Forces in Koraput Dist

Koraput: Security forces unearthed an arms workshop of Maoists in Koraput district. A number of country-made guns were seized from the spot.

After getting intelligence reports about this arms workshop of Maoists, an Anti-Naxalite Deployment (ADP) consisting of 3 sub-officers and 14 other ranks led by Inspector Sandeep Kerketta of BSF was deployed from the company operating base (COB) at Sunki on Sunday.

During patrolling near Alasi village, the ADP encountered two suspicious individuals in the jungle, who fled towards Andhra Pradesh border on noticing the BSF team. The security forces conducted an extensive search of the area, leading to the recovery of a substantial arsenal.

The recovered arms included one Bharmar gun (BML), a mobile phone, a hand blower, one trigger mechanism, two pliers, two hammers, one hexa blade saw, three chisels (small size), two side cutting pliers, five files, two knives, one iron bits, six gear, one wood saw, 30 gram sodium biocide and other things.

On their return, the ADP party lodged an FIR and handed over all items at the Sunki police station.
